Summary

Description

Åsen stasjon like etter 1902. Stasjonen ble tatt i bruk ved åpning av jernbanestrekningen Hell-Levanger i 1904. Bygningen var tegnet av Paul Due og oppført i samme stil som andre stasjoner langs banen. Midt i bildet står stasjonsmester Ole H. Nyquist (f. 1864 i Jevnaker, d. 1925 i Lunner), til venstre hans kone Sofie (Syvertsen) Nyquist (f. 1877 i Drammen, d. der 1908). Til høyre står stasjonsbetjent Martin Stokkan (f. 1877 i Åsen, d. 1968). Se Bygdebok for Åsen bind 2 (s. 497-499) og bind 3 (s. 219). Legg merke til snortrekket helt til venstre i bildet. Dette kom fra Sørfossen og gikk til brødrene Torkildsens orgelfabrikk på Grindal.
