Vintage photo of a coal-burning, triplex steam locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1914. This is a class P-1 engine with the very unusual wheel configuration of 2-8-8-8-2. The unit was used as Erie Railroad # 2603 (nicknamed "Matt H. Shay").
