English: Photograph shows seated from left: illustrator Frances Isabelle (Lockwood) Brundage (1854-1937); Marian MacDowell (1857-1956), wife of composer Edward MacDowell and founder of the MacDowell Colony; and Arthur Finley Nevin (1871-1943), a professor of music at the University of Kansas. Brundage and Nevin were speakers and MacDowell was an organizer of the National Conference on Community Music at the Hotel Astor in New York City, May 31-June 1, 1917.
