Summary

Description
English: Troughs are common on Mars due to stretching of crust by huge volcanoes. Picture shows two troughs with dark slope streaks and transverse aeolian ridges (TAR's). TAR's from in low areas. Slope streaks are thought to be avalanches of bright dust that uncovers the dark undersurface.
