Wrong name of one prefecture[edit]

As I am not able to make changes on the map in the SVG format, I'ld like ask somebody who is able to do it: the name of the southernmost prefecture in Qinghai is not correct: it is called Yushu TAP, both in Chinese and Tibetan, Gyêgu is the name of its seat, the biggest town of Yushu TAP. --Gruschke (talk) 07:52, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I absolutely agree, there is no way to misunderstand the map. One could of course draw it the other way round, borderlines cutting out the Indian claims (as is done in India), with other people being unsatisfied then. --Gruschke 16:17, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

there is no problem, because the map is about autonomous entities set up by China - i.e. by Chinese definitions. The disputed regions are clearly explained on the map. Nichalp is right that the border is POV. The Askai Chin is shown as part of China by use of dark border on Indian side and Arunachal pradesh is also included in China by the dark border on Indian side. Yes. Either the dark line should be drawn to the north of Arunachel Pradesh - which is the de-facto border, or there should be a dashed line on both sides where the border is disputed. Chris Fynn (talk) 08:27, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the whole map is rather misleading. The only autonomous region here is TAR itself. The others are not. They contain autonomous prefectures and other lesser autonomous areas in accordance with the populations in areas within their borders (e.g. Qinghai's 21.8% Tibetan population, which is catered for under the 6 AP's in Qinghai region. Frankly, with Borders stretching almost to Chengdu - the ancient capital of China, one wonders that a map was not found that also included Xian - after all Tibet also occupied that City for - what was it - 12 days at one time.. ?
