Luni, (Pashto: Loni-لونی), pronounced "Looni", or "Lundi" is a village in the Balochistan province of Pakistan.[1] It is located about 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) north of the city of Sibi in Sibi District of Balochistan Province, at an altitude of 495 feet (151 m).

This village is inhabited by the Loni tribe of Pashtuns. The luni tribe migrated from Muqor Afghanistan to sibi( which was part of afghanistan ) in 1660s during the reign of mizri (panni pashtoon) chiefs of sibi , at the time they were led by Asad khan Luni. It consists of 4 subtribes namely- Badozai ,Nakezai , Sakhezai , and Srawar(sulemanzai) . Azizkhel subtribe of badozais holds chieftainship , it consists of offsprings of Sardar Haji Abdul Aziz khan Luni . Luni tribe owns 4 pao of water from nari canal system , of which 3 pao is owned by Azizkhels . Luni chiefs were called sardars and also enjoyed the title “khan sahib” given by the British before partition.Luni village is most developed village in Sibi . The population in 2011 was 1875 in 302 households. Lunis are well known for their education and they’re the most educated tribe of sibi division with highest literacy rate . [2] The tribe and the village is currently led by Sardar Abdulaziz khan luni, a senior retired bureaucrat and author of ‘Afghans of the passes’ and ‘British Balochistan’ . [3]List of successive heads is following : Asad khan (led Lunis to sibi from ghazni) , Mittha Khan , Misri khan , Dawood khan , Umar khan , Hassan Khan , Dawood Khan , Ahmad Khan , Moladad Khan ( during his tenure Lunis lived in exile in Kurak village) , Aziz Khan(1st) during his reign present Luni village was built , KS Ahmad khan ( member british local jirga, was titled Khan sahib by the british) , Saidal khan , Abdul Aziz khan ( current head)
