Due to Josh Corbett and Sebit Kuek being placed on the long term injury list,[14] Fremantle had two available positions to be filled either in the pre-season supplemental selection period or the mid-year rookie draft.[15] Patrick Voss, Max Beatty, Sam van Rooyen and Daniel McKenzie all trained with Fremantle during the pre-season in an attempt to be listed.[16] In the end Patrick Voss was selected with Fremantle's final spot on the list.
