2024 Kirklees Metropolitan Borough Council election

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2024 Kirklees Metropolitan Borough Council election is due to take place on 2 May 2024 alongside the West Yorkshire mayoral election and other local elections across the United Kingdom.[1]

Prior to the local elections, four Labour councillors resigned from the party in protest of the party's direction and policy regarding the war in Gaza.[2] The four members subsequently formed the Kirklees Community Independents Group,[3] which still sits on the council and has no seats up for election this year. With this exception, the council makeup is unchanged following the previous year's elections.
