Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus is an upcoming action-adventure platform game developed by Squid Shock Studios and published by Humble Games.[1] It is scheduled for a July 18, 2024, release on Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.[2]

Development[edit]

Creative director, Christopher Stair, began the game as a solo developer in early 2021 using the Unity engine. Lead programmer, Trevor Youngquist, joined soon after as the game's lead programmer. Milton Guasti, lead developer of AM2R was announced to be an associate designer on the game.[3] The game was first unveiled with a Kickstarter campaign in February 2022,[4] with Squid Shock raising $174,999 from almost 4,000 backers.[4] One of the goals reached was Nintendo Switch ports of the game.[4]

A proper reveal of Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus was announced at a Humble Games Showcase livestream in May 2023.[5] The game was also showcased at Gamescom in August the same year.[6] In February 2024, the companies announced a July 18 launch date.[2]
