comments[edit]

Joeseph Smith should not be on this page. The Mormom church is not a Christian denomination.

What about Cassie Bernall and Rachel Scott from the Columbine massacre? Many Christians consider them martyrs... are they too recent and controversial? Nani 02:46, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fool, mormons are Christian. They believe in Jesus. They're Christian... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.253.17.69 (talk) 19:43, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to sub-categories[edit]

This category already has some sub-categories, including Roman era Christian martyrs (1st - 4th centuries) and Catholic martyrs. I propose that additional categories should be made here, corresponding in part to the main article Christian martyrs:

  • Christian martyrs of the Middle Ages (5th - 15th centuries)
  • Protestant martyrs

Other changes required:

  • The category Jesuit martyrs should be a sub-set of Catholic martyrs.
  • Following the point above about Joseph Smith, I propose that the category of Mormon martyrs be moved up to be a sub-category of Martyrs rather than of Christian martyrs. Fayenatic london 13:36, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

After further consideration, here is a more detailed proposal:

Please discuss at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2007_March_3#Category:Catholic_martyrs. - - Fayenatic london (talk) 17:14, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
