Joeseph Smith should not be on this page. The Mormom church is not a Christian denomination.

What about Cassie Bernall and Rachel Scott from the Columbine massacre? Many Christians consider them martyrs... are they too recent and controversial? Nani 02:46, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to sub-categories[edit]

This category already has some sub-categories, including Roman era Christian martyrs (1st - 4th centuries) and Catholic martyrs. I propose that additional categories should be made here, corresponding in part to the main article Christian martyrs:

Christian martyrs of the Middle Ages (5th - 15th centuries)
Protestant martyrs

Other changes required:

The category Jesuit martyrs should be a sub-set of Catholic martyrs.
Following the point above about Joseph Smith, I propose that the category of Mormon martyrs be moved up to be a sub-category of Martyrs rather than of Christian martyrs. Fayenatic london 13:36, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Christian martyrs of the Medieval era 5th to 15th centuries
Category:Catholic martyrs of the Early Modern era 16th & 17th centuries
Category:Protestant martyrs of the Early Modern era
Category:Orthodox martyrs of the Early Modern era (if required)
Category:Catholic martyrs of the Modern era 18th century to present date
Category:Protestant martyrs of the Modern era
Category:Orthodox martyrs of the Modern era
