Friedrich Ferdinand, Prince of Schleswig-Holstein (born 19 July 1985) is a German prince and the current Head of the House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, which currently reign in Norway, Denmark and the United Kingdom and its Commonwealth Realms, and it reigned in Greece, even though he does not belong to any of those branches which make up different royal families. He is a successful businessman in Germany.

Birth and education[edit]
Prince Ferdinand was born at Eckernförde, Schleswig-Holstein, in West Germany. He is the second child and eldest son of Christoph, Prince of Schleswig-Holstein and his wife Princess Elisabeth of Lippe-Weissenfeld.[1]
As heir apparent to the headship of the House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg from birth, Prince Ferdinand's education centred around one day taking over the running of the family business and estate.
After studying economics in Hamburg, Prince Ferdinand obtained a real estate degree in Berlin from the IREBS Real Estate Academy in 2011, before moving to England to spend a year studying for a Master of Business Administration degree in Agricultural Business at the Royal Agricultural University.[2]
Business career[edit]
After three years working in real estate for Quantum Immobilien AG in Hamburg, in 2015 Prince Ferdinand joined the real estate and project development company De Waal Partners as a Managing Partner.[3]
In April 2019 Prince Ferdinand left De Waal to take over the management of the Schleswig-Holstein family business,[3] Herzogliche Verwaltung Grünholz (Ducal Administration Grünholz), which is located at his family's Grünholz estate in northern Schleswig-Holstein.[4] The business has operations in agriculture, forestry, real estate, tourism and investments.[5]
In December of 2019 Prince Ferdinand acquired a stake in Torrefaktum who have a number of coffee shops in Hamburg.[3]
Marriage and children[edit]
In 2017 Prince Ferdinand was married to Anjuta Buchholz. They have two sons together:[6]
