Jesse Lyu (born 1990) is a Chinese entrepreneur, racer, music producer, and collector based in Los Angeles.[2] He is the founder and CEO of Rabbit Inc.,[3] a company that has developed in January 2024 the Rabbit r1, a device aimed at replacing the app-based paradigm of smartphones with a more natural, voice-driven AI interface.[4][5]

Biography[edit]

Lyu was born in Xi'an, China and studied at the University of Liverpool and University of Arts London. He founded the software company Raven Tech, acquired by Baidu, where he later led the smart speaker rollout. Lyu has also created the social media app Timeet.[6]

In addition to his business ventures, Lyu is a semi-professional Lamborghini racer, music producer, and car/synth collector. His company Cyber Manufacture Co. unites art, fashion and technology.[7] In 2017, Lyu was named one of the "30 Under 30" in Asia and China.[8]

In 2020, Lyu founded Rabbit Inc. along with AI and hardware experts. The company has raised over $30 million from investors including Khosla Ventures and Kakao Investment. Their first product, the Rabbit r1, uses an AI engine called the Large Action Model[9] to simplify smartphone tasks through voice commands.[8][10]

The Rabbit r1 debuted at CES 2024 to significant interest, with 10,000 pre-orders placed on the first day. By the next day pre-orders exceeded 20,000 units, representing nearly $2 million in revenue. The strong response affirms Lyu's vision for intuitive AI transforming consumer tech. With the Rabbit r1, he aims to redefine how users interact with technology.[11][12]
