Karan Bhushan Singh (born 13 December 1990) is the president of the Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association[4] and Chairman of a Cooperative Bank in Gonda district.[1] The BJP nominated him from the Kaiserganj Lok Sabha constituency for the 2024 General Elections, dropping his father Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who is facing serious sexual allegations and charges.[5]

Early life and education[edit]

Karan Bhushan Singh studied BBA at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University and obtained a diploma in business management from Australia.[6] He is also a former national player in Double Trap shooting.[7]

Political career[edit]

In 2024, the BJP dropped his father, Brij Bhushan, amidst nationwide allegations of sexual harassment.[8] Despite the controversy surrounding his father, Karan was given the BJP ticket for the Kaiserganj Lok Sabha constituency. He filed his nomination for the General Election 2024 on May 3, 2024, with the voting scheduled for May 20, 2024.[9] Brij Bhusan is a well-known figure in the region for various reasons, and the BJP faced limited options for alternative candidates from the Kaiserganj seat.[10] Despite facing criticism, the BJP decided to nominate Brij Bhushan's youngest son for the position.[11]
