The Nankai 7100 series (南海7100系) is a electric multiple unit (EMU) train type operated by the private railway operator Nankai Electric Railway in Japan since 1969.

Design[edit]

While the design is based on the earlier 7000 series, this series differs from the 7000 series in having double doors instead of single-leaf ones and having air-conditioning from the time it entered service (For 2nd batch onwards).

The trainsets are formed as follows. The "MoHa 7100" car is at the Osaka-Namba end.

Withdrawals[edit]

From 1999-2003, the entire first batch of 9 4-car sets was scrapped by July 2003 due to the addition of the 1000 series.[2]

Full withdrawal of the remaining fleet commenced in 2015 with the scrapping of set 7193 on 11 August.
