Dates for outgoing free transfers[edit]

In the article's table for outgoing transfers, I'm not sure what date to use for players who depart the club on free transfers. For example, here are several key dates for Woobens Pacius's departure from the club:

December 17, 2023: Pacius announced his departure from Forge FC; independent media also reported it.
December 31, 2023: The last day Pacius was under contract with Forge FC.
February 15, 2024: Nashville SC announced they had signed Pacius; Forge announced his departure.

All of these dates can be mentioned in the article's written section, but only one should be used in the outgoing transfers table. Which date should it be? And is there an established Wikipedia consensus for this situation that I'm unaware of? I am wordsmyth (talk) 16:05, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, pros and cons to each. I'm not sure if there's a standard way to do it but of the three, I think February 15 make the most sense. BLAIXX 02:05, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I've changed it to February 15. I'm still interested if there's an existing consensus for these cases, but not enough to go hunting for it now. I am wordsmyth (talk) 16:34, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
