I'm removing the word "budget" and adding information about the new Aspire x930 series, because eMachines is the budget brand, Aspire is the home computing brand, and TravelMate is the professional brand. Andre1980 (talk) 19:27, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Jeanstrike (talk) 01:56, 17 November 2008 (UTC) Hi, All let me help on the Aspire 4530 series Jeanstrike (talk) 01:56, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Start Date

Someone has written that the Acer Aspire was launched in 1999. I distinctly remember buying one back in September 1996, so I think there may be a problem with that date. Does anyone know for sure? --24.79.78.210 (talk) 12:46, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

I'd imagine you're right mate. The link given on that comment doesn't show what it's purported to. Personally I find the thought of a $1500 Pentium I machine in 1999 more than a little doubtful; the Pentium III had already been launched at that stage. While a low end machine might include a Pentium II, in order for the manufacturer to clear their stock, it's highly doubtful that a Pentium I machine would be on sale in 1999, especially at that price. The link provided takes you to a system, called a v55la2a not a 1151, which is listed as running Windows 95. By 1999 both Windows 98 and 98 SE had succeeded Windows 95. Opening a pdf user file gives the document copyright as 1997. All in all it would seem that the assertion is incorrect. Cyclonius (talk) 22:41, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
That doesn't just seem incorrect, it IS incorrect. I have an Acer Aspire sitting in my room with the manufacturing date "960316", with a 166MHz Pentium in it. Its a hunk of junk alright, the motherboard doesn't even support overclocking. I'm going to use its DRAM and PSU to fix up a way better Sigma rig, when it done it'll be clocked at 375MHz core, 75MHz FSB. Feneeth of Borg (talk) 21:06, 5 October 2009 (EST)

Acer_Aspire_Notebook and Acer_Aspire: both are nearly the same?! eg. Notebook list. - Should probably be merged to here. Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 14:53, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

This page looks like a product spec sheet, not an encycl entry! History2007 (talk) 14:11, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
