Use of Obsolete Reference Materials[edit]

Why is Smith, Philip (1867). "Alcmaeonidae". In William Smith. Dictionary of Greek and Roman Biography and Mythology. 1. Boston: Little, Brown and Company. pp. 105–106. http://www.ancientlibrary.com/smith-bio/0114.html - an 1867 reference - being used as a consistent primary source in an encyclopaedic article? Virtually none of that reference material has any validity anymore. Particularly, in the area of archaeology and history when these books were compiled essentially by treasure hunters... Replacing BC with BCE[edit]

The dates in the article recently changed dates from BCE to BC by Ficaia without discussion. Most of the dates were added by SiegalSchwall70, who wrote most of this article. Before that, the article was a stub. BCE is more commonly used in academic and scientific texts. Talib1101 (talk) 23:18, 5 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
