Translation (from fr: Baerenthal)in progress. Tamarkot 15:41, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Translation completed. If anyone knows anything about heraldry, could you take a look at that section please? Also, the tenses are a bit funny. I'd be greatful for some extra copyediting! Thanks. Tamarkot 16:52, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In 2014 I found several articles about the Barenthal factory that described it as a high quality machining factory whose capabilities were used during WWII to turn out machined parts for the military, esp planes. After the war it turned out high quality restaurant tableware.
At some point not long before I was reading the articles in 2014, "China" was allowed to buy the company with the promise no jobs would be lost & business would go in as usual.
However, not long after approval had been given and the transfer of ownership was complete, the new owners absconded in the dead of night with all the contents of the factory & left a strategy on the fire for the employees to find in the morning that they were out of work & the factory was no more.
What happened to the military grade machines & other equipment remains a mystery because the new owners threatened the workers with severe retribution if they spoke of the situation with anyone and ultimately scrubbed all the stories about it after I discovered them & Tweeted about them. See this thread for other details:
