RED[edit]

Good job. But per WP:RED, if a church is notable, a red link is preferred to black text or to a link to pl wikipedia (I'd leave the link as a semi-reference after the article, to be removed once the article is properly translated). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 23:04, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • The list of churches in Kraków is very long indeed. Many of them already have their own articles in Polish Wikipedia which is of great help for the future. These articles have been duly noted with the inter-wiki links meant for those of us who would like to help out with translations. However, if a specific church in Kraków does not have an article there yet – after all these years – it means, that it might not have been notable enough to draw attention of Polish Wikipedians, a possible red flag; therefore, the chances of it being featured in English Wikipedia are even more remote. A number of churches are not linked at all, intentionally. Many of them are unknown to me. I was happy to mention their existence just for the sake of the basic arithmetic, but I’m not sure about their potential for an article here. --Poeticbent talk 00:37, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
PS: When I wrote the article Synagogues of Kraków I did not use any hot links in their list, neither red, nor light blue interwiki type. Similarly, if I was forced to make a choice in here, I would rather not link the churches for the sake of simplicity, because translating their names (on the fly) or searching for existing translations would have been a major challenge for me alone. --Poeticbent talk 00:55, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The mix of Polish and English names of the churches is a little confusing. Should boht names be inlcuded when citing each church? This would espcially be useful in the table.Wkharrisjr (talk) 13:06, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I’m waiting for someone, with the working knowledge of Polish, to help us out here. We should not be reinventing the wheel by translating Polish names by ourselves without checking first for the already existing English translations. That means, each and every church listed here under its original Polish name, needs to be searched online separately in case it was already written about in the English language, and therefore can be sourced under a name in English established previously in historical literature. --Poeticbent talk 15:59, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'll see if my Mother-in-law can help us. She is fluent in Polish and is a frequent visitor to Krakow, so she knows many of these churches.Wkharrisjr (talk) 17:23, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

POV[edit]

This article takes a very Catholic WP:POV. Either the article should be moved "Catholic Churches in Kraków" or the article should include relevant information on other churches as well.Jeppiz (talk) 19:42, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, if we move it, then it wouldn't be any problem with the article. And I'm well aware of the religious make up of Poland, but I'm sure you know that there are other denominations present in the larger cities as well - in Kraków as well as in Rome and in Dublin. A move is problably the easiest way to solve this, the article would be fine under the new title.Jeppiz (talk) 00:01, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Before voicing my opinion I would like to ask if there are any large/significant Protestant churches in Kraków? - Darwinek (talk) 11:05, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • According to Google, there's The Lutheran Congregation in Kraków with St. Martin's church built in the years 1637-1640, located at ul. Grodzka 58 Street. The church is already listed at number 46, just like the Greek Catholic St. Norbert Church listed at number 91. So, the article includes at least two churches other than Roman Catholic. Should we have a vote about this? --Poeticbent talk 15:27, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I would support this move but what about the "minority churches"? Should they be in a separate list, should the move occur? - Darwinek (talk) 16:03, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I just added a paragraph briefly mentioning other congregations. Please comment and/or expand if necessary. I hope it's enough. --Poeticbent talk 17:19, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's good I think. I am fine with both versions of the article name however. I don't see it as much controversial issue. - Darwinek (talk) 18:54, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As the article now includes info on other churches, I don't think there is a need to move it. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 17:15, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

B-class review[edit]

Quickfail due to insufficient inline reference density. There's at least one unref para. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:36, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
