Please may someone update all data to include Series 18 so far?[edit]

I am looking at this Wikipedia article because I am interested in the latest series, but discovered a gap in the data for the series. Please may someone update this so it useful for readers wishing to learn more about the current series. Best wishes, User:Saturn Lover!🪐 Saturn Lover! (talk) 17:52, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello, I've been updating as frequently as possible, however there is often limited information regarding the deals success so soon after the episodes broadcast. Companies house/companies checks etc usually require a statement of ownership every 12 months, unless a person with significant control has been appointed. So for dragons den they wouldn't appear as shareholders so soon unless they took 50% or more equity, thats also on the basis they have completed due diligence and signed the deal, which can take a significantly long time. The dragons themselves have stated after filming some people never got in contact and relied solely on media exposure from the eps broadcast to boost the product. In other cases media reports state the dragons are working well with them indicating the deal did go through, with many deals renegotiated as loans, which wont appear as clearly through companies house. Will update whenever possible.

  • Just to add to this - I noticed that a successful investment in Beachpowder Ltd from Season 18 Episode 7 is not included on the table. After doing some digging, the company is registered in the IoM and therefore is on the IoM Government Companies Register - not Companies House. This isn't an open register and costs around £2 a document to view these copies. Is this why the entry is missing and would it be worth adding the entry in with the other details and just ommit the deal status due to IoM? Would appreciate any thoughts before I edit it in.

Advice for adding info to pitches tables[edit]

I noticed some details were recently left as as 'unknown' and others blank; missing info such as what episode. Please search for the entrepreneurs feedback on their appearance/s as well as trusted sources which may well have left a review within a week of the episodes broadcast, using the date the article was posted and then judging by 'last weeks episode/sunday's ep, etc' you can find the episodes broadcast date easily via the ratings column on the page or the BBC dragons den website.

On companies house statuses, most companies based in Ireland are unavailable on the website but can be found on https://companycheck.co.uk/. Sometimes the names are slightly different so may require some digging of the person who appeared on the show via companies house, suffixing the locations they operate mentioned on the show or feedback posted since.

When no website is available or the link is now dead, please use N/A in the column as oppose to leaving it blank.

Hope this helps

Excessive use of Companies House, list impossible to maintain anyway[edit]

  1. Companies House does not verify the content submitted to it.
  2. That a company remains on the register doesn't mean it's actively trading. It can be dormant, or filing penny returns.
  3. Even if we assume all the content is accurate and reflected active trading status, it's all {{as of}} whenever the editor last checked the source. That's ~600 refs which can potentially be outdated. After all, a company can stop trading (and I suspect many of these marked as 'active' have, and probably don't have long lifespans anyway).

S18E5 - chewable tooth paste[edit]

What happened with S18E5, the rejected offer about chewable tooth paste? I had no idea that was a thing and I hate thinking that I use too much paste, basically I’m spitting money down the sink. 2A02:2455:4E0:BA00:459A:34EC:6BBE:8BE6 (talk) 21:57, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, if you want to find feedback on how the company is doing since broadcast it's best to search yourself. It's not always possible to house all info on how the company has done since, but following my completion of on-going updates to previous series I will look to add to the successful people column on businesses that exceeded expectations.
