Name[edit]

There's a legacy of reference to this author as (Latinate) Elias but the clear trend is a move towards the original Eliya or English Elijah. Since the latter is presently more common in English and has Oxford backing, I went with that. — LlywelynII 09:14, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The Syriac and Arabic script forms of his name are available at his Syriac Biographical Dictionary entry but, since Google Translate can't do anything with them, I can't add them myself since it's unclear which name is being referenced in script. — LlywelynII 09:17, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
