Eliseus Vartaped[edit]

This author is NOT known as 'Yeghishe' in English. The translations of his work call him Eliseus Vartaped. I have spent quite some time looking for this article, and failing, so we need a change here. Roger Pearse (talk) 06:25, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeghishe → Elishe – Per WP:COMMON NAME

Well the search engine hits is a tricky one, considering he seems to have a regular Armenian name, and thus it may include other figures as well, no? Not sure I did it correctly, but when I wrote 'Elishe Armenian historian' I got 8.150.000 results and 'Yeghishe Armenian historian' -> 97.800 results. --HistoryofIran (talk) 20:17, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
