Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because the term "Global Art" is distinct from "World Art", which is considered pejorative in contemporary Art History, and therefore constitutes an important corrective. In this regard, see for instance the article "Global Art" (2012) by Curtis Carter, which states that "The term world art, previously used to characterize art museum and ethnographic museum collections of art gathered from around the world, also fails to capture the changes that art has undergone since the 1980s" (page 84). This page was created in an effort, by the Worlding Public Cultures research project team (https://www.nwo.nl/en/projects/46318223), to reflect the scholarly work being done in the discipline of Art History, and to recognise artistic practices across the world as well as their interactions. We are aware that further sources are needed for this stub, and will add them speedily.Krotoa-Ethenea (talk) 08:44, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
