Spelling of Diyarbekir[edit]

Prior to the Turkish orthography reform in 1929 (and even afterwards), the spelling Diyarbekir was used in English. (See NGRAM) Wikipedia generally tries to avoid anachronistic place names; for example, a RfC decided to use the name "Constantinople" rather than Istanbul prior to 1930. The sources that I can find discussing this period of history use the spelling "Diyarbekir" (ex [1]) Are there any objections to moving to Tribunal of Diyarbekir? No objection from me. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 00:07, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
