Larisa[edit]

I have reviewed the sources and the scholarship and tried to give a balanced appraisal of the little that we know about Larisa. There is much about Larisa in the Troad which, frankly, is extremely obscure, and whenever this is the case I have relegated the specifics to the footnotes and provided what bibliography there is so that people can make up their own minds. There are some reasonable black and white pictures of the site in A.G. Akalın, 'Larisa und der Liman-Tepe in der Troas' in Studien zum antiken Kleinasien. Band III (Bonn, 1991) Taff. 16-17.
