Bangladeshi double decker ferry Atlas Star, Dhaka-Barisal route ferry with 1,200 people onboard, capsized by stormy condition in Dhaleswari River, Munshiganj, Bangladesh. At least 700 people are rescued and at least 500 people are drowned. [citation needed]
