About lead section and drama's genre[edit]

I invite all users to discuss the lead section key points and genres. User @Musa Raza: has an objection about genres, saying on my talk page, that,

"serial drama is not a genre you can't add it by saying this is a serial drama and "family" is genre for animated films or cartoons. Please see Children's film."

But as one clearly see that, Children's film and Family Drama are two separate genres, and Serial (radio and television) is a gener/type of programming. He also concerned with lead section. Nauriya (Rendezvous), 20:28, April 5, 2016 (UTC).

Agreed with Nauriya. Sammy.joseph (talk) 20:22, 10 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
What's wrong with "Drama" as a genre? I'm sure that could be sourced. Note that genre needs to be sourced per Template:Infobox television. There is a general list of television genres [List of genres here]. "Serial" is more of a format than a genre, so it probably doesn't belong in the genre parameter, but in the lead "drama serial" or "serial drama" would be fine if the series is serialized. just wanted to give you an extensive list and let me tell everyone 2607:FEA8:A5E:9E00:8CBE:4AEF:C83:4F4A (talk) 03:06, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Questionable edits[edit]

Somewhere in these 31 edits I see a major change of names from Salahuddin to Ali Baig, and Salahuddin to Salah-ud-din. I also note changes to an embedded note. I've never seen this series--are these legitimate changes, or should we revert to an older version of this article? Sammy.joseph, Nauriya, do you have any insight here? Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:46, 16 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Cyphoidbomb, Thanks for the notice, i have no idea know who did this, but there is an unregistered user who is making TV Series article that doesn't even exist, and no one is taking action for that user, may be that user or could be someone else did this. And for the "Salah-ul-Din", "Salahuddin" or Sala-ud-Din" are different coronation for same name, but most preferred and most written is Salah-ul-Din.Nauriya (Rendezvous) 7:51, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
  • @Cyphoidbomb First of all im really sorry for late reply, secondly yes, an unknown user is trying to add false inpormation on the page, I tried undoing it several times but i guess no one took action against him. What Nauriya said about different cordinations of same name was true but what the unkown user edited changing the name to Ali Baig was wrong. Sammy.joseph (talk) 07:25, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Merging list of episodes into main article.[edit]

There is a discussion at Talk:List of Mann Mayal episodes about whether or not to merge the List of Mann Mayal episodes article into the main Mann Mayal article. If you have an opinion, you are urged to participate. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:20, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of content[edit]

Hi Sammy.joseph, re: this edit, was there a reason why you removed the following content from the article?

And in the last episode, Salahuddin dies and leaves Mannu forever but Jeena seems to be flew away to her relatives and Mannu finds out Salahuddin left his property for her.

If the concern was that it is a spoiler, please see WP:SPOILER. We do not censor, and people should expect to find spoiler details in a plot section. If there was some other reason, I'm interested in hearing it, please. As for the section heading, I've changed it back to "Plot" since that seems to be consistent with MOS:TVPLOT. Thanks. @Cyphoidbomb Regarding the plot and reception, I thought that it was edited by a anonymous user, so I didn't actually see your name and accidentally changed It, I was gonna undo It anyways! secondly regarding the caption, once RedPenOfDoom edited an article and in the edit summary he said that if Alt is provided there is no need for caption that was the reason I performed my edits, and stuff I removed from reception I added It back . If you think it was wrong I'll follow the edits you made. And Yes most importantly regarding the spoiler, Its all fake!! Yes! Firstly It has no evidence or Reliable source which we can use as a reference. This piece of information (The death and property of characters) was added by a fan on twitter. It was trending and It became the new popular post of Facebook. According to Pakistani Series the only place where spoilers come from are either the OST Videos, The novels, Behind the stage scenes or the Artist's revelation. Sammy.joseph, thanks for the response. I wasn't asking about the |alt= content. I'm not sure what exactly TRPoD said, but this content is used to describe what we are seeing in the image, so that people who use text-based browsers, and readers who are visually impaired, can get a sense of what the image depicts. As for the "Last episode" content, I guess if we don't know whether the series has ended or not, then there's no value in including content about the "last episode", as that would be speculative. Anyhow, thanks for the explanation. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:42, 26 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ratings[edit]

Hi Sammy.joseph, I'm having trouble understanding the ratings numbers. In this edit the claim of the of the premiere ratings increased from 50.9 thousand to 1.1 million. The smaller figure (it had previously been 49.6 thousand) was supported by this reference, which says pretty clearly that the first episode of Mann Mayal had 49,600 viewers. By contrast, the 1.1 million claim is supported by this reference, but the closest thing I see to 1.1 million is an episode from 8 February that achieved 1,954 (1.954 million). The 49,600 figure seems weirdly low by comparison, but needless to say I'm confused where the numbers are coming from. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:27, 30 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cyphoidbomb just saw your message. I just wanted to clearify that this source this reference provides ratings information for UK only, i was unaware of this since other users editing this article said that they were Pakistani Ratings. Since Pakistan had its rating suppliers under development, they soon started releasing their rating information on their website ( this reference ) so when I investigated this matter i found out that Bizasia Ratings are actually UK Ratings not Pakistan Ratings. Similarly the claim of 50.9 this edit was not done by me it was edited by Nauriya. And regarding the 1.1 Million claim, I found this figure here [1] but sadly the link is no longer available, and yes I forgot to add this at the first place Since I was editing this page and had already added so much links in the reception section that I simply forgot adding it to premier section, and even if its not available on the websote, this information was also available on the channels facebook page long ago, but i didnt add this information here since facebook links are not supported. Thanks. Sammy.joseph (talk) 09:56, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I appreciate your explanation. Thanks and regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:49, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
