Update seems warranted[edit]

The actual site is not known. Up until recently it was taken to be Karion by the "good guess" method and the position of Karion was assumed to be known. But, the things you are liable to hear in the Bible, they ain't necessarily so. There is now an alternative. It is time for the moderns to rework the subject. Meanwhile, I think we want to reduce the location given as certain here to a speculation. Also, there are not that many sources on Melia. It should be tied in with the sources. And last but not least, in one of these speculative characterizations, melia is supposed to be Greek "ash." But why would it be named that when it was originally a Carian city? More work I think.Botteville (talk) 03:28, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
