Declaring a COI - I know a lot of the X band members personally and keep in touch with one of the current members once or twice a year. Though I have not lived in the area for about 20 years so can claim some relative impartiality. I think I've kept the article very neutral and quoted sources for most things. Having just read a bit more about submitting your first article, other than the COI issue, there's potential issues with the references not being peer reviewed (other than one book) and also maybe an issue with notability.
