Categories mystery[edit]

How come the categories Jewish History, Christian history, History of religion and Islam appear in the article, but not in the actual 'wikitext' ? Weird! MP (talkcontribs) 10:16, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Arabian tribes"? What Arabian tribes?[edit]

Contrary to Wikipedia's fanciful assertions, Genesis 25:13 and Isaiah 60:7 do not mention any "Arabian tribes". This is a fabrication on the part of Wikipedia. There are no Arabs or Arabians mentioned in the context of Ishmael or any of his offspring in the Bible itself. The Bible does associate them with tribes on the desert fringes of ancient Israel, principally in the area of what is now the Syrian desert and the Negev, and possibly the northern Nefud. The fact that these areas became 'Arabized' in the post-Biblical era is besides the point. The Bible does not refer to them as Arabians. Period.
