Hi. "Opposition to Valentine's day in Iran" is clear. Why do you expect it to fullfill NPOV? --Doostdar (talk) 23:12, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Opposition to Valentine's day in IranValentine's day in Iran – If Wikipedia had already any full grown article for 'Valentine's day in Iran' and then to split long grown section of opposition into separate article for Opposition would have been understandable. Or else even a single person did not celebrate then also present name is understandable.
But without having a main article naming in negative tone sounds premature promotion of section heading into title and indicating a non neutral normative through the title. So is it okay to rename it as Valentine's day in Iran? What do you think? Bookku (talk) 08:29, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Bookku: Your argument for changing the title of the article is not clear. Do you say that Wikipedia should have different articles about Valintine's day including Valentine's day in Germany, Valentine's day in France, Valentine's day in Poiland, Valentine's day in Russia, etc? I have created this article with the main theme of opposition to Valentine's day which is seen in countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia and I don't think Wikipepdia needs articles like Valentine's day in Germany, Valentine's day in France, etc. If the article title sounds to have a negative tone to you, it's because your viewpoint is different from the viewpoint of people who oppose the Valentine's day. This argument is not good for changing the title. As an example the article Indonesian mass killings of 1965–66 sounds unpleasant to me and I prefer the content to be moved to a new article name Indonesian population in 1965–66! --Doostdar (talk) 19:46, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Doostdar:, Thanks for healthy conversation, but I sincerely doubt you read my comment completely. According to my perception most Iranian Muslims value love and truth deep underneath irrespective of all the censorship. If there were no Valentine day celebration in Iran where opposition will come from?
For example this BBC report https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KF0Br-m9xCM says Iranians enjoy and celebrate Valentine's day a lot,
ولنتاین مبارک رفقا ولنتاین مبارک رفیق تبریک ولنتاین به رفیق عکس ولنتاین مبارک رفیق
Above happy valentine day search queries are written in Persian language and not English
and then question arises as I have already raised in this discussion you can read my earlier post again and revisit your contention.
As far as country wise Valentine Day articles, Yes I do support that.
By the way, I would like to invite you @ article Islamic advice literature to take note of even anti Valentine Day negative advice literature.
Thanks for healthy conversation, Bookku (talk) 07:02, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I believe that Wikipedia could have articles about local customs for Valentine's day in Germany, Poland etc. as sources would support it. For example there are sources talking about local customs in Spain and how it differs from other countries, meaning that Valentine's Day in Spain is a valid encyclopedic topic.[1][2] (t · c) buidhe 08:08, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support a broader topic that will encompass opposition to it. (t · c) buidhe 08:08, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Iffy: Hi. The new topic is not notable any more. Just "Opposition to Valentine's day in Iran" meets Wikipedia:Notability criteria. Now the article may be deleted. --Doostdar (talk) 09:32, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Doostdar: If you believe that the article should be deleted then you can open an WP:AFD discussion on the matter. IffyChat -- 11:15, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Iffy: I have created this article, why should I nominate it for deletion? I wont do that but if you nominate it for deletion I will support that because your chosen title is not right. --Doostdar (talk) 11:19, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Doostdar: Hi, We can create a section about "Opposition to Valentine's day in Iran" because you know many young people in Iran celebrate that but some of Iranian politician and law opposed that. We have this in similar article in Persian Wikipedia [1] and that name is "Valentine's day in Iran". I really appreciate to your opinion. Good luck!
