what is it in plain English?[edit]

I find both Payne effect and dynamic modulus articles kinda hard to understand. Isn't there a simpler explanation of this issue? How about real world examples of conditions where this becomes problematic for car tires, and what exactly negative happens? 76.119.30.87 (talk) 19:48, 20 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Came here to say just that. I would like a more layman’s term explanation. Ldorigo95 (talk) 23:02, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I read that Payne effect is attributed to breaking of filler (usually carbon black) structure. Mullin's effect, however, is caused by breaking cross-link between filler and elastomer. It is quite similar but actually not the same. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A0C:D242:452B:CF00:BC44:BB4B:A517:BEFB (talk) 03:55, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
