Are people allowed to write their own wiki pages?[edit]
This page was originslly set up and written by Rebecca Earle herself. Who is she? 138.124.143.158 (talk) 04:39, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@138.124.143.158:I strongly suspect this to be an unhelpful comment and question on your part, but in the tradition of Assuming good faith and for the avoidance of doubt no they didn't write it themselves. It is bad form to edit your own Wiki biography (see: Conflict of Interest info). I started this Wikipedia page and should you want to find out, there are lots of clues in my User Page that I ain't Rebecca Earle. Earle meets the qualifying criteria for inclusion in Wikipedia (see this link on notability) for several reasons but the most emphatic is their Fellowship of the British Academy. I can't see any indication that they have edited their own page, so I hope this resolves your query. Here if you need me. Zakhx150 (talk) 13:42, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
