Notability[edit]

I have placed a notability tag on this article because it is not clear from the article why this subject is notable enough to merit inclusion in an encyclopedia. All the article suggests is that the manuscript was simpler than others, and the age of the manuscript. If somebody could please explain the notability of this manuscript on this discussion page, preserving it for future reference, I would really appreciate it. I agree that not enough context is given for the general reader, but so little English music survived the dissolution of the monasteries that I dont find it surprising that any sources at all are of considerable interest. The Ritson ms appears to be a unique source for a work of SirWilliam Hawte as well. Sparafucil (talk) 06:21, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
