Two different rivers?[edit]

I believe this article refers to two separate rivers, each in the same area -- the Cladagh River which flows from Cladagh Glen, Marble Arch Caves, Owenbrean River, etc. (North side of Cuilcagh Mountain, Co. Fermanagh) flows North and directly into the Arney River, and from there East into Upper Lough Erne. It doesn't pass through Swanlinbar, or Co. Cavan for that matter.

The Cladagh (Swanlinbar) River rises on the Southeast side of Cuilcagh Mountain in Co. Cavan (in the Republic of Ireland) and flows via Swanlinbar and Kinawley and similarly into Upper Lough Erne, upstream ("up lough" perhaps?) of the Arney. The reference cited makes no mention of Cladagh Glen, because the river it describes is not the one which flows from the Marble Arch/Cladagh Glen side of the mountain.

Unfortunately I can't find any online maps to reference that can ratify this by naming the rivers, but I will check on my OSNI/OSI maps and confirm -- if no one has any objections I'll see about splitting this into two separate articles, River Cladagh and River Cladagh (Swanlinbar) and re-route the redirects accordingly Fattonyni (talk) 13:31, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, having checked OSi Discovery Sheet 26, it shows the Cladagh or Swanlinbar River, also marked An Chlaideach, combining from a number of tributaries off the SE side of the mountain, and flowing via Swanlinbar towards Kinawley and the border on the next sheet (OSi 27A or OSNI 27). The river on the North side of the mountain, emerging from Marble Arch and Cladagh Glen, is marked Cladagh River and ends when it flows into the Arney River. I'll see about making some edits.
