NY Times obituary[edit]

According to the NY Times obituary which ran on October 13, 1969 Poliakoff age 63 died the day before...Modernist (talk) 21:48, 14 June 2010 (UTC) I can't link it so I am copying it:[reply]

The obituary reads:

Serge Poliakoff, 63, Dies: Abstract Artist in Paris

Paris, Oct. 13 (Reuters)--- Serge Poliakoff, an abstract painter, died of a heart attack here yesterday. He was 63 years old. Mr. Poliakoff's paintings, characterized by irregular geometric forms and a striking use of color, hang in museums all over the world. The future artist left his native Russia in 1918. He started as a figurative painter, but after moving to Paris in 1924 he came under the influence of Robert Delaunay and Kandinsky and turned to abstract work. He achieved international recognition after World War II.
