Apponyi is here credited with Goulburn's Big Merino, presumably the concrete construction known as "Rambo". Confirmation is hard to find. Monuments Australia credits architect Gary Dutallis and Adelaide builder Glenn Senner. In an ABC interview, Apponyi does, jokingly, claim credit for the genitalia, but details were not forthcoming. He says the three-storey steel armature had been erected when he was brought onto the scene, which makes sense, architecturally. Anyone have useful info?
