Thracian?[edit]

Plutarch does not say anything about their ethnicity. This claim comes from the footnote 180 which claims: Footnote 180: Nothing is known of this tribe. There is a city, Tralles, in Asia Minor, which Clough conjectures may possibly have been connected with them. Liddell and Scott speak of "Trallians" as "Thracian barbarians employed in Asia as mercenaries, torturers, and executioners.

On the other hand the is Livy who mentions their ethnicity several times ie book Livy 27.32 "...Trallians - an Illyrian tribe..." Livy 31.35"...Trallians, who are a tribe of the Illyrians, as we have said in another place.." Livy 33.4 "...Trallians, an Illyrian tribe....". I am changing it correspondingly.
