Strongly Oppose @BSRF Tram İzmir is the name of the modern tram network, while Trams in İzmir covers the history of trams in the city. They are two separate articles and shouldn't be merged. (Central Data Bank (talk) 14:52, 22 December 2017 (UTC))[reply]

Official name[edit]

Official name of the tram network is İzmir Tramvayı in Turkish,[1][2] and İzmir Tram in English.[3] The İzmir Tram logo was derived from the İzmir Metro logo. If the İzmir Metro system isn't called Metro İzmir, then the tram network shouldn't be called Tram İzmir.--BSRF (talk) 18:10, 29 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@BSRF: as per the official webpage, branding name of the system is "Tram İzmir", not İzmir Tram. Therefore, the name should remain Tram İzmir. Please do not move the article back unless a consensus has first been reached on this talk page. Thank you! (--Central Data Bank (talk) 21:35, 29 November 2018 (UTC))[reply]

I agree with Central Data Bank. The branding name is "TRAM İZMİR", not like "METRO İZMİR", because we're basing brand names. Network and operator are different things. Ahmetlii (talk) 11:48, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
