Anyone have a picture?

Google Image Search has several up, but I don't know what the copyrights are. The image found on this page seems to be the standard one, however. Beginning 04:16, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling[edit]

Search engines seem to prefer Venus of Berekhat Ram, and every single Berekhet result I've come across is from Wikipedia, so I'm going to move it over to that name. Each result from Google Image Search uses the a instead of the e as well. Beginning 04:16, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Alterations[edit]

I've emphasised that there is dispute rather than consensus and tried to separate the question of whether there was modification from the problem of whether such modification was for an artistic/symbolic purpose. There is also the third question of whether the markings - if intentional and symbolic - have anything to do with trying to make the thing look like a woman. In the earlier version these were all equated with one another. Paul B (talk) 14:01, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As I understand it, there is no agreement that it was modified by early humans at all. So I'm changing the introductory sentence to reflect that.
