Usage[edit]
Although Central America is defined as including 7 nations (Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama), this second template version was devised for nonpolitical subjects where a physiographic definition would be useful. For example, it could apply in zoology, ecology, etc. where the region shares common bio-characteristics.
Some geographers physiographically describe Central America as including a portion of the Mexican southeast, east of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.
