Template:Reported death editnotice
PLEASE READ BEFORE REPORTING THIS PERSON DEAD
Wikipedia is aware that Reported death editnotice has been reported dead by some sources on the Internet. To prevent harm to living persons, we do not report any individual as dead if it might not be true. A discussion on the discussion page for this article has concluded that Reported death editnotice should not currently be reported dead. Do not add the reported death to this article, as it will be removed. Instead, if you have evidence that this person has died, you should read the discussion page and add any missing information to the discussion there. |
This template may have no transclusions, because it is substituted by a tool or script, it is used as part of a short-term or less active Wikipedia process, or for some other reason. |
This template is meant to provide an effective generic message via an article editnotice for cases where the subject of a biography has been reported dead, but a discussion has established consensus that the reports are not yet sufficiently reliable to pass the bar of Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons and so we cannot characterize the article subject as dead. It can be used as alternative to semiprotection or as a supplement. The reader is pointed to the talk page both as a way to discourage editing and as an opportunity for them to report any new information that they may have.
Usage[edit]
See Wikipedia:Editnotice for instructions on how to create a per-page editnotice for an article. To use this generic message, the editnotice should only contain:
{{Reported death editnotice}}
No other code is needed.
