Purpose:

For list entries in a list of pages to be translated (in projectspace, on userpages, as part of a talk discussion), providing a target page to place the translation into, a source page from which is to be translated, and rough machine translations from various free online translators

Usage:

{{xlate|sourcepage=|sourcelang=|targetpage=|targetlang=}}

• |targetlang= — OPTIONAL – DEFAULT: "en" (English) − specify language to translate to; if not specified defaults to English (language code: en)
• |targetpage= — MANDATORY – specify pagename of the topic in the target language

If the targetpage is not on the local Wikipedia, prepend the language code enclosed in colons directly before the target pagename.

ie. :fr:Exemple instead of Exemple where "fr" is the language code

• |sourcelang= — MANDATORY – specify the language of the source pagename to be translated from
• |sourcepage= — MANDATORY – specify pagename of the topic in the source language

|sourcelang= and |targetlang= use ISO 639-1 language codes

Examples:
