                            Angel Baskets (book)

Angel Baskets is a children's book written by Mary Lynn Raye and illustrated by Jean Colquhoun. It's the true story of Cornelia French, who was brought to the Shakers of Mt. Lebanon, New York, in 1842, as an orphan, and learned to make Shaker baskets. Angel Baskets, written by Mary Lynn Raye, and illustrated by the primitive American folk artist Jean Colquhoun. Cornelia died at the Mt. Lebanon Shaker Village in 1914. Angel Baskets won a silver medal for its illustrations by the Small Press Association in 1989. The book is now long out of print. Jean Colquhoun's other works include the children's book Christmas in Water Village, gift bags, which have been seen on the soap opera The Young and the Restless, bookmarks, candle jar paintings, and lamp paintings.
