1992 is an Italian TV series created by Alessandro Fabbri, Ludovica Rampoldi and Stefano Srdo from an idea of Stefano Accorsi. The Show is planned to air on the pay per view Italian channels Sky Atlantic and Sky Cinema 1 starting March 24, 2015. 1992 is produced by Wildside in collaboration with Sky Italia and La7. The plot is based on the judicial investigation Mani pulite, an actual nationwide inquiry occurred in Italy in 1992 due to the political corruption inside the Country's main political institutions. The events are seen from the viewpoints of the six main characters.
Plot[edit]
Leonardo notte is successful advertiser who, after the events that followed the Tangentopoli corruption scandal, is trying in all the way possible to maintain his activity. Bibi Mainaghi is a rich heir of a entrepreneur whose businesses lose credit because of the political vicissitudes. Luca Pastore is a police agent who works along with the magistrate Antonio Di Pietro in order to unearth the system of corruption and kickbacks part of the Italian Politics. Rocco Venturi work with Pastore, however he is hiding his true identity, Pietro Bosco is a former soldier who has decided to join the Lega Nord, an Italian Political Party. Veronica Castello is a showgirl who's trying reach notoriety.
Production[edit]
The TV series was shot in 2013 and planned to air during the fall of the same year, however it was decided to delay the series until spring 2015.
Broadcast[edit]
1992 pilot episod is going to air on March 24, 2015 on Sky Atlantic and Sky Cinema 1. The series will be even shown, at the same time, in Austria, Germany, Ireland and United Kingdom on Sky Atlantic.
Critics[edit]
The series was first shown at the Berlin International Film Festival. Le Monde and Variety wrote positive reviews about the show.
