I am a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, currently serving at the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, Colombia.

In 1985, immediately after graduating from Fordham University, I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers in the U.S. Army Reserves. Some time after graduating from New York Law School, I transferred in the reserves to the Judge Advocate Generals (JAG) Corps. I practiced personal injury law in New York City for many years, while remaining in the reserves. Following the events of September 11, 2001, I volunteered for active duty with the U.S. Army, and served in Fort Dix, NJ; Baghdad, Iraq; the Pentagon; and several other locations in and around Washington, D.C. In 2009, I joined the State Department, and later that same year transferred to the Retired Reserve at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

I am married and have a son.
