The Depressive Personality: The Personality of the Terrorist,Conservative Republicans,Evangelical Christians and Others Who Must Obey Too Much. THE DEPRESSIVE PERSONALITY The Depressive Personality is similar to the Depressive Personality Disorder except it designates a personality type or a person with this personality without any sign of pathology. The term has been gaining usage in clinical and research settings to designate individuals who hold a set of particular values and behave in a predictable manner. Recent work suggests cerain social situations reduce stress for this personality and thus reduce mental illness. Each personality type has its own traits and type of cognitive processing which fosters its own social institutions. The resulting psychosocietal group is that which produces major soical movements in the society.
