Tony Alexander Mutiu Olawale Ugo Lemom (born 16th June 1992) known professionally as Lemzi, is a British rapper, singer and songwriter. In 2019 Lemzi gained some attention for the production of B.O.T.S on Sky News, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWEhJJ1BInQ and BBC One & BBC Radio London, a song campaigning against Knife Crime. Lemzi was voted MSG London artist of the month (Jan 2019), was a finalist in both Coffee Music Project London https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnhriY03J5w, https://www.coffeemusicproject.com/london-2019 and Afropunk 2019. His music has featured on BBC 1Xtra, Reprezent Radio, Pulse 88 and many more of London's biggest urban radio stations, but most importantly, he has brought many different demographics and audiences together. Lemzi has appeared as an extra in the Netflix revival drama series Top Boy.
Early life[edit]
Lemom was born in Leytonstone, London at Whips Cross Hospital to Nigerian descendent parents, He is ethnically Yuroba. He was raised in fairly comfortable surroundings with two younger sisters.
He studied at a private prep school Snaresbrook Prep School and went on to attend Forest School, Walthamstow which sports stars Nasser Hussain, Mark Petchey and Charlie Sheringham as well as Brandon Lewis also attended. Lemom gained two A stars and an A at A-Level and went on to study Law and Criminology at Manchester University gaining an upper second-class honours degree. After Graduating Lemom worked in several roles and after being made redundant in 2016 he was left with a significant decision; whether he would continue on this particular route or follow his passion and change that into a career. He has chosen wisely.

Since 2016, Lemzi has released solo EPs, joint EPs, singles, music videos, his debut album, Leki https://www.iamhiphopmagazine.com/new-music-lemzi-lemziartist-releases-debut-album-leki/ toured the UK, performed across different continents, sold out shows, curated his own events, and established a mentoring/workshop brand. Lemzi has a great passion for where he was brought up and hence produced and made BOTS, a song amplifying awareness on knife crime in East London. He describes his music as rap and experimental. Although he is closely affiliated with the Grime genre especially in the early days pulling inspiration from Kano, Dizzy Rascal and Skepta, he has also pulled inspiration from other genres including blues and jazzy R&B.
