Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Paswan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bhojpur (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:13, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

Sister, I have published article on Jagdanand Singh giving a citation by The Economics Times describing his caste, political affluence, till it was deleted. Amrapahal Pahanswan (talk) 16:48, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

  • This is because you copied the whole material from source u listed there.Wikipedia takes copyright violation very seriously. So you need to write in ur own words.Second ... caste of a living person can be told only if in the source they say themselves that they belong to that particular caste group. If this is not done it amounts to WP:BLP violation. Also you should not use words like great, excellent, extraordinary etc as one of Wikipedia policy called WP:Puffery and WP:POV tells us to maintain neutrality while writing an article.Start once again that article. ...good luck. Picture of Ahir King Rao Tula Ram was added . Then someone changed it and added picture of some Individual based on British Raj records. Its better not to have any image here. Peasants and Monks in British India, William R. Pinch

Dear Sis, You are doing awesome work on Wikipedia. congrats! BTW, I noticed you used Peasants and Monks in British India by William R. Pinch at several places. It is freely available here. Please see https://publishing.cdlib.org/ucpressebooks/view?docId=ft22900465 Also, for some "pure shudra" castes in early 1800s , please see https://publishing.cdlib.org/ucpressebooks/view?docId=ft22900465&chunk.id=s1.2.11&toc.depth=1&toc.id=ch2 See "Buchanan, in the early nineteenth century, had included in the term “pure shudra” the well-known designations of Kayasth, Koiri, Kurmi, Kahar, Goala, Dhanuk (archers, cultivators, palanquin bearers), Halwai (sweets vendor), Mali (flower gardener), Barai (cultivator and vendor of betel-leaf), Sonar (goldsmith), Kandu (grain parcher), and Gareri (blanket weavers and shepherds).[108]". If you click on the number 108, you will notice that he is talking about Bihar and Patna only. 108. Buchanan, Bihar and Patna, 1811–1812, 1:329–39; Martin, Eastern India, 2:466–70. Buchanan notes that in Gorakhpur both Halwais and Kandus were included as Vaishyas and thus considered twice-born (Martin, Eastern India, 2:465). Also, that chapter refers to North India only. Hence as a general suggestion, we need to be careful before generalizing and need to qualify these groups with "Bihar/Patna" as they may be under different classification elsewhere whenever we use this chapter. As an example, this may not apply to same caste names from other states. For example, Sonar in Maharashtra came from Brahmins and were called Daivadnya Brahmins - and they had thread ceremonies too. I was looking at some of your recent edits and noticed that you were generalizing this statement for disparate groups on some pages. Hence the suggestion. Hope the link helps. Best Regards,LukeEmily (talk) 21:46, 13 August 2020 (UTC)

  • well thanks..... i will see sources you share.....i Am sick of people trying to glorify caste by removing images etc etc. My edits are on the basis of few books i have read on Bihar's caste and polity which i use in almost all edits.I will see these sources too.ThanksHeba Aisha (talk) 23:45, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
You mentioned some editors do not like SUNY press which is an academic press hence I was surprised. Do you know any instances where they have reverted edits from SUNY press? The authors of SUNY press are usually well known scholars.LukeEmily (talk) 22:40, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi Heba, thank you for your edits

My respects to the superior knowledge that you have attained over the years. Thanks for contributing to wikipedia. I saw your recent edits of Kayastha page. You have added a few theories that claim that Bhumihar and Kayastha of Bihar are Shudra. You probably do understand that these contentions have been debated for ages and both these groups have proved beyond doubt their high ritual status in religious as well as legal courts. Nevertheless the contention did exist and you are welcome to add the same to the page. But to be fair, the other side of the contention should also be fairly added. The decision of Banaras pandits regarding these may be impartiality added.

As per Padma Purana, Bhavishya Purana and the decision of Banaras Pandits in the year 1779 AD on varna status of various sub-groups of Kayastha, they are considered to be Brahmins.[1]

Add the same to Varna/classification section of the page, if you find it useful and relevant. Thanks in advance. I hope you continue the good work.

Vikram Q1W2 (talk) 09:14, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
  • @Vikram Q1W2: Hi first of all thanks for saying all this. But,after talking with the senior editors on Wikipedia like Sitush and Utcursch(He is an administrator) i came to know that pre independence era sources on caste related pages are not considered neutral sources as for example: Todd used to write about Rajputs and most of the later historians recognise him as biased author.Same is the case with various communities as those who were close to Britishers due to various reasons tried to prove their higher status and upward mobilisation was evident. As for example: The Kushwaha community, they are also shudra but they tried to assume kshatriya status due to their closeness to the british provided their role in opium production.

If you have doubt then you can ask the above two editors i mentioned or can discuss on Wikipedia india related page discussion forum. If i add they will revert it sooner or later as source you provided is of period before 1947.Heba Aisha (talk) 09:36, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

No issues, I can provide you a post-1947 book which refers to this letter. Will that help you be impartial? Vikram Q1W2 (talk) 09:43, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

  • Will see and if quality of the source i mean publication is good i must add.Heba Aisha (talk) 09:46, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Yes it is a standard book. Milton Israel’s book of 1987 refers to this translation of Gupte of 1779 AD letter of Banaras Pandits to Peshwa Darbar.[2] Vikram Q1W2 (talk) 09:58, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

  • What new things you want to be added??Heba Aisha (talk) 10:02, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

On the other hand, as per Padma Purana, Bhavishya Purana and the decision of Banaras Pandits in the year 1779 AD on varna status of various sub-groups of Kayastha, they are considered to be Brahmins.[3][4]

Add the same to Varna/classification section of the Kayastha page. Thanks in advance. I hope you continue the good work. Vikram Q1W2 (talk) 10:17, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

I can't see these sources- anywhere on Kayastha page nor in the reference list. Which page are you looking at? Even if they are there reformatting may be done, since new regional sources have been recently added by you. In my opinion, the above mentioned statement with sources may be added before or after your additions, to present the complete contention. Hope you appreciate the concern. Vikram Q1W2 (talk) 14:57, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

  • source 23 is the book of the same author.second I can't write in exactly same way i.e Descision of banaras pundits it will be the violation of WP:POV.Also i am sure padma purana and other purana as verification will not be liked by senior editors so i don't want my edits to be reverted.see for edample Kudumbar article. Here also people who were concerned wrote a lot of good things and Sitush reverted all those things in such a manner that now nothing is there.check the history of that article. YOU shud pray that they don't examine Srivastava article. I doubt they can do similar thing with that too.So chill as some of the sentence still write Kayastha as brahmins. You just glance through their edit history you will know which type of sources they don't wantHeba Aisha (talk) 15:14, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Few editing tips

Hello, Heba Aisha. Please don't move any other talk page comment as that will create further confusion. You should use a colon (see WP:Indentation) to reply to a comment rather than using an asterisk mark. Also, one should provide diffs rather copy-pasting whole comments of other editors – please see WP:Diff.

Finally, an article's talk page is meant for discussing things related to the improvement of that article. So other article or general behaviour of users should not be discussed there – please see WP:TPG. Thanks. - NitinMlk (talk) 11:15, 29 August 2020 (UTC)

About the photo you added on the Meenas wiki page

Why you have added a photo with the caption "Meenas, Hindoos of low caste, vagrants, Delhi."?

1. if the source is old does not mean it is correct or reviewed work. How a photo dated -1868 - 1875 is relevant? We are in 2020, do Meenas still live and are vagrants? Do you know how many divisions are there within Meena tribe?

2. Meenas are not natives of Delhi, as photo caption is stating.

3. Meenas in Rajasthan come under tribe, NOT a CASTE and do not fall under Hindu cast systems, hence, no point in stating low or hight cast.

So, the photo and caption are misleading and do not represent the correct status of Meenas. So, please remove it or find a photo represents Meenas in factual terms. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.242.49.5 (talk) 21:44, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

Content about racist views of Richard Nixon for indians was removed

Declassified documents from the Richard Nixon Presidential Library show that Nixon held deeply racist views for the Indian people and sexual hatred for Indian Women as revealed by author Gary J. Bass. [1]Describing Indian women as "undoubtedly" the most unattractive women in the world. Also describing Indian people as the most "sexless" and "nothing" people in the world . At one point comparing indian people with "African blacks " , stating that atleast they have an "animallike charm" but the Indians were "ack, pathetic" . [1]

This content is sourced from a recent article in the NYT but it was still removed . Could you have a look ? Meethamonkey (talk) 06:21, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi

Regarding the removal of content from talk page, I did remove only two discussion, both were related to you. You put fake warning of edit war and block. Edit war is considered when you make atleast 3 reverts within 24 hrs. And that was not that. I see you also removed such fake warnings from your page put up by someone and its ok. Because they were fake warnings. You can remove this discussion too if you wish. And for Rajput page, I again ask you to keep the discussion short and relevant to the matter. Other matters if you want to discuss then create separate discussion page for that. @Kautilya3 I believe has not much time in hand so try to keep it comprehensible. Thanks. I will post some comments on the Talk:Rajputs page. Both of you need to keep the discussion focused on the content, and avoid all conduct-related discussions. Conduct can be discussed on User talk pages, if need be. But most of the time, it is not productive to do so.
Edit war occurs when editors who disagree about the content of a page repeatedly override each other's contributions [1]. 3 reverts is called the bright red line, after which you will get automatically blocked. But edit-warring begins at the second revert itself. So, only one revert is normally permissible, that too with well-justified, policy-based reasons. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 16:57, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi, regarding your constant following of my edits

If you don't mind I think I feel like you are following my edits and then try to edit that and related pages. For singular incident I think it wont be any problem, but lately I am feeling that for every history related article i edit you will reach there and edit it. It feels like I am being watched everytime. It may also lead to some conflict if you continouosly edit after my edits where you earlier never edited. We already have our differences in other articles and if you keep on doing this, we may get other conflicts on some other pages, I request you to not do such things. You never in your edit history ever touched those articles ever, you even had little knowledge about the subject, (by look of that talk page), nonetheless as soon as I edited that you will reach on that page and edit it alongwith other related pages. This may amount to Wikipedia:Harassment#Wikihounding, so I will suggest you refrain from such acts in future. Sajaypal007 (talk) 07:16, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

Plz i just corrected citation and didn't touch even a word on the article. And anyone can improve any article.Harrassment happens when anyone tries to inhibit other but instead i m supporting ur edits in the articles.Heba Aisha (talk) 08:39, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
Please read the rule carefully. To quote a part, "Even if the individual edits themselves are not disruptive per se, "following another user around", if done to cause distress, or if accompanied by tendentiousness, personal attacks, or other disruptive behavior, may become a very serious matter and could result in blocks and other editing restrictions." Your constant following is causing distress for me. History of Rajasthan is my field of interest, I have never seen you editing anything related to Rajasthan history before our confrontation, even today you got confused Chunda of Mewar with Chunda of Marwar, it says how much you know about the subject. Anyway my point is please do not follow my edits, there are different ways to cite sources, mine is different from yours. And also in don't create multiple discussion, I asked you here, you should reply here instead of going over my talk page and replying half of the answer there. I don't have so much free time in mind end as you do and can't discuss on multiple fronts. So please request you not to follow my edits. You have been doing that since last month after Rajput origin controversy. I never follow your edits or make edits on your interest pages after you edit them. Last time I am requesting you to not follow my edits, it cause constant distress and inhibit my ability to work freely on wikipedia. I hope you understand that. Thank you in advance. Sajaypal007 (talk) 09:31, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
Ok not follow ur edits but history is my field of interest and it is possible that i could edit other articles related to Rajasthani history. And you may not feel problem for that.Heba Aisha (talk) 10:51, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
Sajaypal007, (talk page stalker) I dont think that this user is hounding your edits in a bad cause. According to the information page Correct use of an editor's history includes (but is not limited to) fixing unambiguous errors or violations of Wikipedia policy, or correcting related problems on multiple articles. In fact, such practices are recommended.. As the user said that he/she only corrected citations (fixed unambiguous errors), therefore it isn't prohibited. If the user is really watching your edits in a good cause then it's permitted. In the start, my edits were also watched by some users, but that helped me to learn more and find my errors. Being watched by users, made me more attentive. Soon, they left watching my edits when I didn't react to them. However, I'll also suggest this user to keep the discussion at single place, not to make it scattered. Thank you. Empire AS Talk! 11:59, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
Thank u Empire AS.....Yar see he just edited Lakha Singh...Yes i visited there to see his edit history....but soon i found requirement of edits in other articles too....so i edited Mokal Singh and created a new article Chunda Sisodia too......i m not strictly bound to an article but working on a number of articles and number of subjects.Heba Aisha (talk) 12:04, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
It's right to follow any user's edits in a good cause like correcting errors and problem as stated above. But not the contributions be followed for disruption or personal attacks. As I see, you just expanded refs and corrected grammar. So, I wouldn't say it harassment. Thank you. Empire AS Talk! 12:18, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
You don't know our dispute history. Our dispute is still going on another page. Also this is not first time, she edited some other articles after me and not for fixing my errors. It happened many a times while we are already in dispute on a page. Regarding that you should read the policy which I quoted verbatim above. Good faith edits can be considered as harrasment if you are constantly doing that, and that too with a guy you have been in a dispute. And I already asked her to not do that it is inhibiting my working on wikipedia and making the environment here distressful. Also I my citation style is different, its not like there is a necessity to link google books, its not a wikipedia rule. So I didn't commit any mistake at all. If she want link google books in wikipedia there are thousands of links she can work on. @HebaAisha I am again asking you to please stop this.

2020 Hathras gang rape and murder Twitter Sources

Hi Heba, I saw that you removed the twitter citations from the article saying "Twitter shouldnt be used....need a reliable source". I added those citations, they are reliable because all 3 of them were from official Twitter accounts of Agra Police, IPRD and District Magistrate. I read WP:TWITTER and the citations all match the criteria in there, so I think they should be kept up. Also, the replaced citation of the news article doesn't show these tweets mentioned. I'm relatively new to Wikipedia, so please do point the right way :)

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Seema Samridhi, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. ChariotRider55

Hi Heba, Hi Heba Aisha, maybe we could rephrase some of Chariotrider555's edits but it seems that at least some of the edits are necessary as the modern opinions apply to *all* Rajput clans. They do not say that there are any exceptions. Many of the western scholars (other than origin section, please see the community formation section on the Rajput page) - are quite explicit in saying that they do not have Kshatriya origin and these lineages were fabricated by Bards as well as the Rajputs themselves. I found two more references from Oxford University Press. But these were not always fabricated by Brahmins. I have seen this promotion issue on Maratha pages too. Since the main Maratha page is under heavy scrutiny, several caste promoters try to add words like Suryavamshi, Kshatriya origin etc. directly to the clan subpages rather than the main page as not many people watch them. I feel that at least something should be added when there is a statement that a certain clan is or claims Suryavanshi etc. and then point the page to origin on the Rajput page. At least one or two lines that modern historians do not agree in general about all Rajput clans. What do you think? I felt like his edits were valid although probably too much detail. In short, unless there is historical evidence that a caste studied vedas at least in the 18th/19th century - it is unlikely that it is twice born irrespective of what they claim. LukeEmily (talk) 16:04, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

Ok...as u added those details..... You are more knowledgeable in the area. So I asked u.Go aheadHeba Aisha (talk) 16:13, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

Daroga is not part of Rajput community you idiot Luke Emily. Rajputs are the kshatriya as far as Vedic ritual is concerned. The word is synonymous to Kshatriya. This is not based on some bards, Charans as you fool think to be. Rana of Bharat (talk) 07:47, 21 November 2020 (UTC)

My friend Luke Emily, your questions on Sacred thread and dwija, yes Rajputs used to recite Vedas and wear sacred thread. https://books.google.co.in/books?id=0fmtjbaQPzMC&pg=PA64&dq=rajputs+rulers+vedas+reciting&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiV6LDylpPtAhV-yTgGHYdMDIoQuwUwAXoECAYQBw#v=onepage&q=rajputs%20rulers%20vedas%20reciting&f=false Rana of Bharat (talk) 08:12, 21 November 2020 (UTC)

Ms Heba, when you have lack of knowledge on the subject don't try to be the editor on it. Today anybody is entitled to do what they want like farming, business etc. Do you a large section of brahmin is in agriculture and not very literate ( if you use English educational logic).
