File permission problem with File:Costa Diadema 02.JPG

Thanks for uploading File:Costa Diadema 02.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:40, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

Hello Angelgreat,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, In Search of the Titanic, may be copied from http://wikibin.org/articles/in-search-of-the-titanic.html. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 00:42, 21 December 2013 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on In Search of the Titanic requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://wikibin.org/articles/in-search-of-the-titanic.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:44, 25 December 2013 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Carnival fantasy at sea 2.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

Costa Voyager

Hi there! I reverted your edits again. So, before inserting it again, could you please provide proper reference for the information that the Costa Voyager is to be scrapped. Accordind to Costas CEO the Costa Voyager is for sale, but any intention to scrap this comparatively young ship seems to be extremely unlikely since Costa just spent several million Dollar for maintenance and repair work on her. Furthermore the scrapping information is not backed by the present classification status. And by the way, there is a talk page ;-) Brgds, --SteKrueBe (talk) 22:48, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Ahecht. I noticed that you uploaded a new version of an image, File:Quantum_of_the_Seas_Exterior_from_4-16-2013_keynote.jpg. Please do not upload versions of this picture that are higher resolution than 300px wide. As a non-free image, the lowest resolution that still satisfies the purpose of the image should be used per the guidelines in WP:NFCCP. The stated purpose of the image in the non-free use rational is "This image will provide visual reference for the descriptions of Quantum of the Seas. This image will add significantly to readers' understanding of the layout and design of the ship. Since visual appearance is a major topic in ship design, omission of the rendering would be detrimental to understanding the design of the ship." The 300px wide shows enough detail to provide said visual reference for understanding the layout and design of the ship. Please review WP:NFCCP, especially section 3b, before modifying this image further. Thank you. --Ahecht (TALK

I'm Sorry!

The article SeaDream II has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Jakob (talk) (Please comment on my editor review.) 23:25, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Unexplained date changes

Hi Angelgreat. I noticed that you've been changing the dates of various maintenance/deletion templates added to file pages like you did here, here, here and here, etc. In a couple of cases, your edits were reverted by Aspects as "unexplained date changes", yet you went back and made the same change. You really shouldn't be changing the dates on these kinds of templates unless there's a good reason for doing so and you should explain why such a change is needed in your edit sums so that other editors at least know why you made the change. Continuing to make such unexplained date changes is going to be seen as disruptive editing and likely lead to a request for an administrator to review the edits and see if a block is warranted. Once again, if you've a good reason for making the date change, then please explain in your edit sum or on the file's talk page; otherwise, they should be left as is. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:01, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

@Marchjuly: I am sorry, I want to save those images, it was sad to see them go bye bye so I changed the dates so I can save them. I am so sorry, I promise to never do it again. Thanks for reading this message.

Angelgreat (talk) 18:27, 5 March 2016 (CST)

No need to apologize to me. It's understandable that you want to save the images, but simply changing the dates on the templates is not the way to go about doing that. If you feel an image should not be removed from an article based upon Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, try discussing it with the editor who removed it on the article's talk page. If you feel an image should not be deleted based upon Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, try discussing it with the editor who added the deletion template to the file or by posting something on the file's talk page. You may even be able to try and use Template:Di-replaceable fair use disputed so that the administrator reviewing the file is aware that you have posted something on the file's talk page. If you have general questions about why an image is not allowed to be used, try asking at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions or Wikipedia:Files for discussion. Lots of images are inappropriately uploaded/used on Wikipedia so there may be nothing that can be done. Some images whose usages were once considered acceptable are no longer considered OK because the way they were being used has changed over time; this happens quite often with non-free images. Sometimes, however, files are tagged for deletion by mistake. Whatever the case may be, there's nothing wrong with asking others for an explanation as to why they feel an image should be deleted/removed. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:33, 6 March 2016 (UTC)

List of proposed state mergers

Please stop adding invalid entries to the list of proposed state mergers. The lsit is meant for proper proposals by the powers that can enact them, "proposals originating from sovereign states or organizations". Popular feelings, popular sentiments, popular support mean zilch here. Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 10:58, 4 November 2017 (UTC)

@Rui Gabriel Correia: I don't know what you're talking about, I added those, how is that invalid?

Angelgreat (talk) 12:57, 4 November 2017 (CST)

Since when is "The unification of Albania and the partially recognized Kosovo has gained popularity since the 2008 Kosovo declaration of independence." a proposal? Since when is "The unification of Romania and Moldova became a popular concept in the two countries during the dissolution of the Soviet Union, and remains a commonly discussed aspiration for some in both countries." a proposal? And unification is a "concept"? Gaining popularity is not a proposal; being a commonly discussed aspiration is not a proposal. And the proposal must come from sovereign bodies of each political entity involved. Or do you still not know what I am talking about? Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 08:48, 5 November 2017 (UTC)

@Rui Gabriel Correia: I Understand now, I'll stop talking to you. Angelgreat (talk) 9:42, 5 November 2017 (CST)

Disambiguation link notification for December 15

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Living Presidents of the United States, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Inauguration of Grover Cleveland (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Costa Cruises 02-JAN-2018

Copyright problem icon Your addition to Costa Cruises has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Spintendo ᔦᔭ 07:53, 2 January 2018 (UTC)

@Spintendo: I didn't add copyrighted material, all I did was took the text from the Wikipedia article Angelina Lauro, and shirtened it so it would fit the Costa Cruises page, I didn't add copyrighted material from another website.

Angelgreat (talk) 09:55, 2 January 2018 (CST)

In moving text from one article in Wikipedia to another, the responsibility falls upon you to determine the veracity of the information you are transporting. In this case, had you checked, you would have discovered that the text you added originated on this website and it's copied word for word. That website has a disclaimer which states: © 2017 Cruising the Past. All Rights Reserved. Any copying or reproduction of images or media herein is strictly prohibited. In other words, taking text from one Wikipedia article and copying it onto another Wikipedia article without proper attribution is not acceptable, per WP:COPYWITHIN. Spintendo ᔦᔭ 16:11, 2 January 2018 (UTC)
@Spintendo: You didn't have to remove the quote from Costa Cruises or white out the Angelina Lauro Page, you could have or have someone else rewrote it in a way that doesn't plagiarize anything.

Angelgreat (talk) 12:32, 2 January 2018 (CST)

The policy WP:C is clear: "Never use materials that infringe the copyrights of others. This could create legal liabilities and seriously hurt Wikipedia. If in doubt, write the content yourself, thereby creating a new copyrighted work which can be included in Wikipedia without trouble." You remain free to take their work, place it in your own words, and add it back to the articles at your earliest convenience. Regards, Spintendo ᔦᔭ 20:14, 2 January 2018 (UTC)
@Spintendo: You also didn't check the Orange section of the Angelina Mauro page, It was also copied from that website, so I deleted that. Do your job.

@Spintendo: I'll leave you alone.

Super Mario All-Stars

What is the purpose of the image? To show that Super Mario All-Stars exists on Wii? If so, then there are existing, better images floating out there of the box art. A photograph of the box inside of a store display is a poor choice for an encyclopedia; cropping it isn't going to improve it. Please stop adding the image. --ThomasO1989 (talk) 23:00, 10 March 2018 (UTC)

A page you started (Wind Star (ship)) has been reviewed!

Thanks for creating Wind Star (ship), Angelgreat!

Wikipedia editor SamHolt6 just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

Needs more references, but passes review. It is a very unusual -and interesting- ship design in the modern era. Thanks for creating!
